GDPR Compliance Tools
As of May 25 2018, with the entry into application of the General Data Protection Regulation, there is one set of data protection rules for all companies operating in the EU, wherever they are based. This basically means that, if you are running a website and some of your visitors are from the EU, you’re subject to this law.
Notify your visitors with a fancy Privacy Bar and let them control their Privacy Preferences.
How does this apply to you?
Besides the data and cookies that you collect and process intentionally, you may be using a 3rd-party services on your website, like Google Analytics, Google Fonts, Google Maps, YouTube, Vimeo etc. In these cases some personal data (usually an IP address of a visitor) is sent to the service provider in exchange for the free service. This is the personal data flow that you can hardly control, but which you must make GDPR-compliant by prompting a visitor’s consent before he can use the service.
In other words, with the new regulation, it’s not enough to simply notify a visitor about what type of data is being collected. You must receive his consent in order to be able to collect this data or use a 3rd-party service that does so. Luckily, Scape gets you covered with its GDPR Compliance Tools.
